stress relief

I need to start getting things off my chest, outta my head and on some sort board. I call it therapy or the last straw before I start ripping heads off those damn Oyajis one by one. You see there are two types of people here in Japan

The Japanese tradition, waht they call "wa" is nothing more than looking the other way, letting people get away with things. I work in the ski and snowboard industry and have been based out of the great city of Sapporo for the past 13 years. Niseko which has now been made world famous by...you guessed it, foriegners. You see, Japanese just don't get it
Niseko "the Bubble"

I'm not the first and definitely will not be the last one to complain about the apathy that runs wild here in Japan and the lack of common sense.

You see things have become so complicated here, so much red tape, so difficult that japan is suffocating itself. There's many forms of pollution here but the biggest by far is the coffee drinking, cigarette smoking oyaji beuraucrats and salary men.

back home you ask to do something and people will try to help you and point you in the right direction, they may even give you more ideas...they "help" you. here they just sit and wait to throw up the crossed arms and tell you dame, why you can't do something. Japan has been beaten.

I asked my university students every year.."what's your dream job?" Now this could be anything, anything in the whole wide friggin world...your "dream" job. More often than not I would hear the word komuiin. I had to finally ask a student to look the word up and to my surprise it was simply a "bureaucrat". WTF I thought to myself, why would you want to do that I asked? "Antei", , "kantan2 and "kyuryo ga ii" were the most common answers. Here I am teaching elementary English to "University students" and I'm realizing the route
First you need a country that wants to change.

Japanese have been programmed not to think.
